How it is designed
Three pieces make a center-opening sleeping pillow. The U-shaped wedge takes the thighs. A smaller piece takes the low back. The middle stays empty.
If you close the gap, you are back on a surface. The listing image that says you set the height means: move pieces, do not fill the hole.
High-density foam. Plush velvet zip covers you can machine wash. Dotted non-slip bases. Side straps hold a stacked wedge. The fourth piece is the curved cushion — a toilet pad — and the center block is a footrest. Three pieces also build a continuous ramp for legs or a back rest.
Why this shape
These pieces leave a gap under the hips. The buttocks are not the surface you rest on.
Stacked bed pillows sink and close the hole you need under the hips. A pile of pillows has no fixed opening. By morning it is a lump under the buttocks. These pieces have a cutout and a strap. You leave the gap.
What to skip
- Do not sit, lie, or put pressure directly on the buttocks when that is the order (ASPS; Scripps Health).
- Some written protocols forbid back-lying for weeks (Chicago Breast and Body: 4 weeks). Use the bed setup only if your surgeon allows that position.
- Do not push the pieces together so the buttocks rest on foam. Leave the gap under the hips.
