How it is designed
It goes on the seat you already have. Hook-and-loop straps around the ring. Adhesive strips on the underside. No tools. No replacement bowl.
High-density foam. A zip cover you can wipe. It folds in half to store. A side handle to carry it. Open front, like the seat under it. Blue or White. 2 in or 3 in.
Why this shape
The job is height: 2 or 3 inches so you do not drop as far to sit, or push as far to stand.
Replacing the whole seat is a project. This straps on, folds, and comes off. A rigid raised seat or a 3-in-1 commode is taller and has arms. This is foam on the existing ring: tool-free, foldable, a handle on the side.
What to skip
- After a posterior-approach hip replacement, Providence’s handbook says: do not sit in a low chair; do use a raised toilet seat.
- This is foam strapped onto the seat you already have, not a rigid commode with arms. Follow your therapist.
